Reepham is a handsome market town inland from the coast, with a historic square, Georgian townhouses and surrounding farmsteads — but its flat-roofed extensions and garages need the same level of attention as anywhere else in Norfolk.
Because Reepham sits on slightly higher ground away from the coast and the Broads, the main concerns here are driving rain from the west and the freeze-thaw damage that opens up cracks in ageing felt or asphalt. We find a lot of older properties in and around the town centre have had flat roofs put on rear extensions during the 1970s and 1980s using materials that are well beyond their service life. Replacing these with modern GRP or EPDM adds real weather resistance and removes the annual worry of winter leaks. GRP is particularly suited to smaller Reepham outbuildings and porch roofs because it can be moulded around awkward details.
